Falcone - Cantucci Chocolate Cookies (12x200g)
Cantucci...traditional Italian biscuits. It's said that no dessert can satisfy the palate without its own story. So here's the story of our almond cantucci, a story that dates back to the early 1900s and a recipe that, even today, faithfully follows the tradition of our grandmothers! These hand-cut biscuits, cantucci (the term apparently derives from the word cantellus, meaning piece or slice of bread), are unique in that they're baked twice: the first loaf is baked for about 30 minutes, and the second, after slicing the warm loaf (still soft), is baked for about 7-8 minutes to make them crispy. In Abruzzo, they're paired with a good coffee or vin santo, or even better, with the Abruzzese ratafia, known as the elixir of Abruzzo, whose aphrodisiac properties were praised by the poet Gabriele D'Annunzio.
